A patented antiviral compound (coating solution) has strong positive charge attracting negatively charged surface proteins that envelop RNA of viruses, including the SARS CoV-2 virus causing COVID-19, and bacteria; it arrests these pathogens on the surface of the fabric. The strong positive charge tears off the surface proteins of these pathogens exposing the RNA inside, and destroying the virus altogether. This non-toxic compound is made from edible and biodegradable ingredients ensuring complete safety for users.


Made from Plant Starch

Corn is a superfood, but its versatility goes beyond food. PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a major raw material in bioplastic production and is extracted from corn starch. It utilizes 65% less energy, compared to petroleum-based plastics.  It is carbon neutral because corn is grown sustainably. And PLA is compostable and will  decompose in a short time, as opposed to conventional plastic material from which virtually all disposable facemasks are made, which takes almost 500 years to decompose.

Nanofiltration is a membrane-filtration, which uses nanometer size nanofibers to reduce the size of pores inside the filtration membrane. It first traps contaminants, such as bacteria and viruses and blocks passages for trapped contaminants to go through.

The size of the COVID-19 virus is 0.06-0.14 micron (0.001 mm) while the pore size of nanofiltration membrane is 0.001 micron. We are the first to develop efficient nanofiber membrane made from biodegradable materials.
